Oppo is preparing to launch its next flagship, the Find X9 Ultra, and early leaks suggest that it will come with some notable improvements over the current Find X8 Ultra. While the company has not shared official details yet, reliable sources indicate major upgrades in areas like the display, camera system, battery, and processor.
The Find X9 Ultra is expected to arrive with a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display that supports 2K resolution. LTPO technology allows the refresh rate to change dynamically, which helps save battery while still keeping visuals sharp and smooth.
Under the hood, the phone may run on Qualcomm’s next big chipset, Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which is currently known by its internal code name SM8850. Qualcomm is likely to reveal this processor at the Snapdragon Summit scheduled for September, which means Oppo’s new flagship could be one of the first devices to use it.
The biggest highlight of the upcoming model seems to be its camera system. Leaks point to a setup of four cameras on the back, and interestingly, two of them are expected to be periscope zoom lenses. The main sensor is said to be a 200-megapixel camera with a 1/1.1-inch sensor size, while the second key sensor may also be a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with a 1/1.3-inch sensor size.
The details of the remaining two cameras are still under wraps, but it’s clear that Oppo is putting strong emphasis on advanced photography and zoom capabilities.
Battery performance also looks like it will get a big boost. Reports suggest the handset will be fitted with a 7,000mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the 6,100mAh unit inside the Find X8 Ultra. The previous model already supported 100W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging, so it will be interesting to see whether Oppo maintains or further improves fast charging support with the new device.
To set the stage, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, which launched in China in April 2025, had a 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED display, ran on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and featured a Hasselblad-branded camera unit with four 50-megapixel lenses and one 2-megapixel sensor. The phone was dust- and water-resistant with IP68 and IP69 ratings and was priced from CNY 6,499 (around ₹76,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.
Compared to that, the Find X9 Ultra seems set to focus on higher megapixel cameras, stronger zoom features, a larger battery, and more powerful processing power. While pricing details remain unknown, it is expected to sit in the same ultra-premium price bracket as its predecessor.
The Find X9 Ultra is likely to be unveiled alongside the rest of the Find X9 series, which will reportedly include the Find X9, Find X9+, and Find X9 Pro. Some leaks have also hinted that Oppo could release special add-ons, such as a Hasselblad photography kit to improve the camera experience, though this is not confirmed yet.
If these reports are accurate, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is shaping up to be one of 2025’s most advanced Android flagships. With its 2K LTPO OLED panel, Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, 200-megapixel dual periscope lenses, and a huge 7,000mAh battery, the device could give tough competition to rivals like Samsung, Xiaomi, and Vivo in the high-end smartphone market.
