Cristiano Ronaldo, the world-famous footballer from Portugal, is now engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez.
The happy news came on August 11, 2025, when Georgina posted a photo on Instagram. In the picture, she showed their hands together. On her hand was a huge, shining diamond ring. She wrote in the caption,
“Yes, I do. In this life and in all my lives,” confirming she had accepted Ronaldo’s proposal.
The ring quickly became the centre of attention. Experts say the big oval-shaped diamond in the middle weighs between 25 and 30 carats, and it could even be as big as 35 carats. On each side of the main diamond, there is a smaller diamond of about 1 carat. The ring is probably made of platinum or white gold, which makes the diamonds shine even more.
Jewellery specialists say the ring is worth a huge amount of money. Most believe it costs between 2 million and 5 million US dollars that’s about ₹16.8 crore to ₹42 crore in Indian rupees. Some experts think it could be worth even more than 10 million US dollars if the diamond is perfect in quality.
The ring is also very large, measuring more than 5 centimetres long. Many people are calling it one of the most expensive and beautiful engagement rings ever seen.
Ronaldo and Georgina first met in 2016 at a Gucci store in Madrid, where she was working at the time. They made their relationship public in 2017 when they came together to the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich. Since then, they have built a family.
They have a daughter, Alana Martina, born in 2017, and twins, Bella Esmeralda and Angel, born in 2022. Sadly, baby Angel passed away shortly after birth. Ronaldo also has three other children from previous relationships and surrogacy.
