McLaren Celebrates 200th F1 Win with Thrilling Hungarian GP Victory

McLaren has made history by winning their 200th Formula 1 race at the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix.

The race was exciting and full of action, especially between McLaren’s two drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

What Happened at the Race?

The race took place at the Hungaroring track in Hungary. Lando Norris started third and chose a smart one-stop tire strategy. His teammate and current championship leader, Oscar Piastri, started near him but took two stops. In the last laps, Piastri tried very hard to pass Norris.

On the second-to-last lap, he almost overtook but locked his tire when braking, which let Norris hold onto the lead and win the race by a very small margin.

This was McLaren’s 11th win out of 14 races this season and their seventh time finishing first and second. George Russell finished third, making it an exciting podium finish.

Why Is This Win Special?

This win is very important because it is McLaren’s 200th win in Formula 1 history. Only Ferrari has more wins than McLaren. The team has been racing since 1968 and has had many famous drivers like Ayrton Senna and Mika Häkkinen. They have also worked with big engine companies such as Ford, Porsche, Honda, and Mercedes.

At the Hungarian Grand Prix, McLaren has won 13 times, more than any other team, showing their strength at this track.

What Did the Team Say?

McLaren’s team boss, Zak Brown, said this win was almost perfect. He praised the drivers and the whole team for their hard work. He also talked about how Norris and Piastri push each other in a friendly and exciting way.

Lando Norris said he is happy but knows the competition is tough. Oscar Piastri is close behind in points, with just nine less than Norris, so their rivalry will continue as the season goes on.

What’s Next?

The season now takes a break for the summer. Racing will start again with the Dutch Grand Prix on August 31, 2025. McLaren hopes to keep winning and stay strong in the championship fight.

McLaren’s 200th win is a big moment for the team. It shows their history and strength in Formula 1. The Hungarian Grand Prix was an exciting race, and the battle between Norris and Piastri kept fans on the edge of their seats. Many great races still lie ahead in the season!
