Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 May Surpass 4 Million AnTuTu Points With New 3nm Core

Qualcomm is set to unveil its latest flagship mobile processor later this month. Although it is likely to be called Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, some sources indicate it might launch under the name Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The official launch is likely to take place at the Snapdragon Summit 2025 in Hawaii on September 23.

Even before the event, leaks have given us a good idea of what the new processor will bring, and it looks like it will set a new record in performance.

A well-known tipster has suggested that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 may surpass 4 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark. This would make it the first mobile chipset to cross that number. By comparison, current flagship chips such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and MediaTek Dimensity 9300 usually register scores ranging from 2.5 million to 3 million points. This suggests a huge step up in power.

The leaked information also reveals the technical side of the new chip. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to use Qualcomm’s custom Oryon cores, and the chip is being built on TSMC’s modern 3nm (N3P) process. According to reports, the CPU is expected to have two prime cores operating at 4.61GHz and six performance cores at 3.63GHz. Along with this, the chip will feature the new Adreno 840 GPU, which is said to run at 1.2GHz to handle more demanding gaming and graphics tasks.

Several smartphone companies are already rumored to be testing the chipset. These include Xiaomi, OnePlus, Realme, iQOO, Vivo, and Honor. Reports say that Samsung will also use the chip but will get a special version called Snapdragon for Galaxy, which may run even faster at 4.74GHz. This version is likely to appear in Samsung’s high‑end Galaxy devices.

The first phones with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 are expected to arrive in late September or October. The Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro may be the first handsets to use it. Soon after, brands like OnePlus, Realme, iQOO, Vivo, and Samsung will also launch their flagship phones powered by this chip. Devices expected to feature it include the OnePlus 15, Realme GT 8, iQOO 14, Vivo X300 Ultra, and Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S26 series.

The chipset will also support the latest memory standards, including LPDDR5x and LPDDR6 RAM. This means users can expect smoother app performance, faster multi‑tasking, and improved power efficiency. Thanks to the 3nm production process, the chip should also consume less energy while still giving much higher performance than earlier models.

Qualcomm is expected to share complete details, including official performance numbers and AI features, when it takes the stage at the Snapdragon Summit. The event is scheduled to begin on September 23 in Hawaii, and more leaks or confirmation of these specifications are likely to appear before that date.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, if the claims are accurate, may mark the start of a new era in smartphone performance. With such high benchmark scores, a new CPU and GPU setup, and support from almost all major Android phone makers, this chip is set to become a key highlight of the next generation of flagship devices.
