Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Launching Early 2026 with New Design and Qi2 Wireless Charging

Samsung is set to release its Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, likely around January or February. The new series will have three models: Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. These phones will be a big upgrade from the 2025 models.

The design of the new phones looks different. Leaked images show that the Galaxy S26 Edge will have a rectangular camera module. The design looks a lot like Apple’s iPhone 17.

The Galaxy S26 Pro and Ultra will keep their usual vertical pill-shaped cameras but with better styling. The S26 Edge will have the thinnest body, around 5.5 mm. The S26 Pro will be about 6.7 mm thick. The Ultra will be 7.8 mm thick.

The displays are also improved. The Galaxy S26 Pro will have a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The S26 Ultra is likely to come with a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with QHD+ resolution. It might be flat for slimmer edges and better durability.

The S26 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with QHD+ resolution. It may include new technology like CoE depolarizer and “Flex Magic Pixel.” These features can make the screen harder to see from side angles for better privacy. All models will support HDR10+ for bright and clear visuals.

The performance is also upgraded. Samsung may use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 or its own Exynos 2600 chip depending on the market. The Galaxy S26 Ultra will have up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB storage. The Pro and regular models will probably start with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

All phones will have fast UFS 4.0/4.1 storage. These upgrades will help the phones run faster and handle AI features better. They will run Android 16 with Samsung’s One UI 8.5. The phones may have multiple AI assistants, including Samsung Bixby, Google Gemini, and Perplexity AI.

Battery and charging will also improve. The S26 series will support Qi2 wireless charging with a new magnetic ring. This may make charging faster and more efficient. The phones might remove reverse wireless charging (Wireless PowerShare) to add this feature.

The Ultra version will allow wired charging up to 45W, while the S26 Edge could come with a 4,400mAh battery. The Ultra will have a slightly bigger battery than the previous model for longer use.

All models will have the latest 5G Advanced, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual SIM support. The Ultra may get USB 4 or Thunderbolt 4 for faster data transfer and better DeX mode. It may also include new privacy features to stop people from seeing your screen in public.

According to leaks, the Galaxy S26 may start at around ₹79,999 in India. The Ultra with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage may cost around ₹1,59,990. Samsung will confirm the final prices and availability at its Galaxy Unpacked event in early 2026.

In short, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series will bring a new design inspired by iPhone, stronger performance, better cameras, and new wireless charging. Samsung is adding smarter AI features and more convenience. The new phones will be ready to compete with other flagship devices when they launch next year.
