Samsung is getting ready to launch a new smartphone called the Galaxy F17 5G in India. The phone has not been officially announced yet, but details about its price and main features have already leaked online. The handset will probably launch alongside the Galaxy M17 5G, which is still under development.
Leaks suggest that the Galaxy F17 5G could be priced at Rs. 14,499 for the base version. This model may come with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Another version offering 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage might be priced at Rs. 15,999. At this price point, the phone will compete with devices from Realme, Redmi, and iQOO in the same budget 5G range.
The next smartphone is expected to come with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen. The screen may support a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals and could also have Gorilla Glass protection. According to reports, the Galaxy F17 5G might carry an IP54 rating, which means it can resist limited dust and splashes of water. It is also expected to be just 7.5mm thick, making it slim compared to many other phones in this category.
Samsung is expected to use its own Exynos 1330 processor built on a 6nm process for this device. The phone could launch with Android 15 out of the box, along with Samsung’s custom One UI 7 skin. Another key feature is the assurance of extended software support.
Leaks claim that Samsung will provide six years of Android OS and six years of security updates for the Galaxy F17 5G, which is unusual for a phone at this price.
Cameras are expected to be a strong point of the device. The rear setup could have three lenses, including a 50‑megapixel main camera with optical image stabilisation. This will be joined by a 5‑megapixel ultra‑wide sensor and a 2‑megapixel macro camera. For selfies and video calls, the handset may carry a 13‑megapixel camera on the front.
The phone is also tipped to include a 5,000mAh battery, which should offer good backup for daily use. It may support 25W wired fast charging, allowing users to quickly recharge when needed.
Although Samsung has not yet announced an official release date, reports suggest that more details about the Galaxy F17 5G could be shared at Samsung’s event on September 4, 2025. This means that the phone’s introduction may be just around the corner.
