Oppo has launched a new smartphone called the Oppo A5i Pro 5G in Malaysia. This phone is part of the company’s A-series lineup and it comes with a big battery, 5G support, fast charging, and a simple design. Oppo is offering it as a mid-range option for people who want a phone that lasts long on a single charge.
The price of the Oppo A5i Pro 5G in Malaysia is MYR 799, which is about ₹16,600 in Indian currency. It comes in only one variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Buyers can choose it in Breeze Blue or Midnight Purple colors. The phone is available for sale on Oppo’s official website in Malaysia. Oppo had earlier released a 4G version of the A5i Pro in the Philippines in June this year.
The device features a 6.67-inch LCD screen, offering HD+ clarity and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate, which makes the display smooth while scrolling or playing games. The screen can reach up to 1,000 nits brightness and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for protection against scratches.
The Oppo A5i Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The device runs on Android 15 with ColorOS 15.0.1 on top.
For photos and videos, the smartphone has a dual rear camera. The rear setup includes a 50MP primary camera paired with a 2MP monochrome sensor, while the front houses an 8MP shooter for selfies and video chatting.
The most notable feature of this phone is its large 6,000mAh battery. It also supports 45W SuperVOOC fast charging, which can quickly refill the battery when needed. Even with its large battery, the phone maintains a slim profile of 7.99mm and a lightweight build of 194 grams.

The device has an IP65 rating, which means it is resistant to dust and light water splashes. Its overall dimensions are 165.71 × 76.24 × 7.99 mm.
With this launch, Oppo is targeting users who want a long-lasting phone with dependable performance at an affordable price. The display on this phone is limited to HD+ instead of Full HD+, but Oppo is clearly focusing on battery life, durability, and stable 5G performance rather than very high-end features.
