Toyota plans to stop selling the Innova Crysta in India by the start of next year. This is the second version of the Innova, which came out worldwide in 2015. In India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor started selling it in 2016.
It has been very popular for ten years, mainly with taxi fleets and big families. Right now, only a few countries like India, Indonesia, and the Philippines still sell the Innova Crysta along with the newer Innova Hycross. News reports say 2026 will be the last full year for this model in India.
At first, the Innova Crysta had choices of petrol or diesel engines, and manual or automatic gears. But before the third-generation Innova Hycross arrived, Toyota removed the petrol engine and automatic options. Now, it only comes with a 2.4-litre diesel engine called 2GD-FTV, which is turbocharged, and a 5-speed manual gearbox.
This setup mainly goes to fleet buyers. The engine started with BS-IV rules and got updated to meet BS-VI Phase-1 and then BS-VI Phase-2 standards. Toyota does not plan to change it anymore.

New rules called CAFE 3 will start in April 2027. These make car companies improve fuel saving and cut CO2 pollution for all their cars. The Innova Crysta's strong ladder-frame build and diesel engine make it tough to follow these rules. So, Toyota has little choice but to end sales by early 2027.
The company once wanted to stop it earlier, but people kept buying it, and there were supply problems with Hycross parts. This time, the end is certain.
The Innova Crysta costs between Rs 18.65 lakh and Rs 25.36 lakh before showroom extras. The Innova Hycross petrol version is Rs 18.06 lakh to Rs 20.35 lakh. Its hybrid version goes from Rs 25.90 lakh to Rs 31.89 lakh. After stopping Crysta, Toyota may lower prices on the Hycross hybrid to keep customers happy.
