Reliance Industries Limited announced a new product at its 48th Annual General Meeting on Friday. The company introduced JioFrames, a pair of smart glasses with artificial intelligence (AI). These glasses have a voice assistant called Jio Voice AI, an HD camera, and can translate many Indian languages live.
With JioFrames, Reliance is entering the smart glasses market and will compete with Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, which cost ₹29,900 in India.
JioFrames are made to be used hands-free every day. People can make calls, listen to music, take photos, and record videos without using their phone. Reliance says the glasses are light, so they can be worn comfortably all day.
One special feature is real-time translation. The glasses can instantly translate signs, menus, labels, and conversations. Jio Voice AI understands natural language, so translations sound correct and easy to understand. This is helpful for travelers and people who switch between languages often.
The glasses have an HD camera to take photos and record videos. Users can also share what they see live on social media. JioFrames have small built-in speakers for calls and music, so no earphones are needed.
JioFrames also help with health and fitness. They can count steps and give simple health tips using voice feedback. This makes them useful for work, lifestyle, and fitness.
The Jio Voice AI assistant acts like a personal helper. It can remind you of meetings, set tasks, and send “smart nudges” so you don’t forget important things. This makes the glasses helpful not only for calls and fun but also for productivity.
Currently, Reliance has not shared the price or launch date of JioFrames, but the price is expected to be competitive for Indian buyers.
The launch is part of Reliance’s bigger AI plan. At the same meeting, the company also announced new services for Jio AI Cloud and a new Riya AI voice assistant on JioHotstar, which can translate live during sports. These updates show that Reliance is building a full AI ecosystem connecting wearables, cloud, and entertainment.
In short, JioFrames combine live translation, AI assistance, health tracking, music, calls, and social media streaming in one pair of glasses. The price and availability are still unknown, but these smart glasses will increase competition in India’s wearable tech market.
