iQOO is reportedly working on a new phone that may bring together two features people often want but rarely get in one device: small size and a very big battery.
Leaks from tipsters suggest the company could soon launch a model called the iQOO 15 Mini or possibly the iQOO 15T, and what stands out is the claim that it will carry a 7,000mAh battery.
If this turns out to be true, it will make the phone one of the few compact flagships with such a high-capacity battery. The device is also expected to go head-to-head with the OnePlus 15T, which according to reports is also being prepared with a similar large battery.
The new phone is said to be a part of the iQOO 15 series, which will follow last year’s iQOO 13 lineup. Although nothing has been officially confirmed by the brand, multiple leaks indicate that the goal here is to create a smaller handset that still performs like a high-end flagship and lasts longer on a single charge.
To make this possible, the company might use a special silicon-carbon battery that allows more power to fit in limited space.
Unlike the standard iQOO 15, which is expected to have a 6.85‑inch AMOLED display, the Mini model will likely come with a smaller screen. Still, if it shares specifications with the bigger variant, buyers could see major flagship-level features.
The series is rumored to run on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, which is designed for top performance. This suggests that the Mini will not just be about battery life but also deliver smooth gaming and everyday use.
The leaks around the regular iQOO 15 provide a clearer picture of what might be offered across the series. Reports point to the phone featuring a triple rear camera setup with three 50‑megapixel sensors, including a periscope telephoto lens supporting 3x optical zoom. The big 7,000mAh battery in this version may also support 100W wired fast charging, which would make charging very quick despite the large capacity.
When it comes to competition, the OnePlus 15T stands out as the closest rival. OnePlus is expected to refresh its T‑series line with a compact device that also houses a 7,000mAh battery. Both phones are positioned to attract users who enjoy powerful gaming, long usage hours, and premium features but still prefer a device that feels more comfortable to hold than oversized flagships.
The launch date of the iQOO 15 series hasn’t been made public yet, but leaks hint at a possible unveiling in China later this year, with global markets following after. The compact Mini or 15T model could be introduced alongside the main series. Similarly, OnePlus is also expected to roll out its new compact flagship later this year as part of its regular launch cycle.
The bigger picture here shows a shift in smartphone design trends. For many years, brands were aiming to make phones thinner and lighter, but in 2025 the focus seems to be changing. Companies like iQOO and OnePlus are now prioritizing long battery life, faster charging, and gaming power, even in smaller phones.
If the leaks are accurate, the iQOO 15 Mini could mark a new step for compact flagship devices by proving that small does not have to mean weak on battery.
