This three-row SUV starts at Rs 13.66 lakh for the basic AX 7-seater petrol manual model and goes up to Rs 24.92 lakh for the top AX7L diesel automatic with all-wheel drive, but these prices are just for the first 40,000 buyers. It takes on rivals like the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari by offering petrol or diesel engines with manual or automatic options, including AWD on some higher diesel automatic versions.

The engines stay the same as before, with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol called mStallion that makes 203 horsepower at 5,000rpm and 380Nm of torque from 1,750 to 3,000rpm, linked to a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

The diesel is the 2.2-litre mHawk engine giving 185 horsepower at 3,500rpm, with 420Nm of torque for manuals between 1,600 and 2,800rpm or 450Nm for automatics from 1,750 to 2,800rpm, also with six-speed choices. Both setups work well for daily city use and long drives, giving families plenty of space and pull.

There are six trim levels named AX, AX3, AX5, AX7, AX7T Tech, and AX7L Luxury, and some come as 7-seaters or 6-seaters with separate captain seats in the middle row. Prices rise from Rs 13.66 lakh for AX petrol manual to highs like Rs 23.44 lakh for AX7T diesel AWD automatic or Rs 24.11 lakh for AX7L 6-seater petrol automatic.

The entry AX trim has bi-LED headlights with daytime running lights, clear LED tail lamps, piano-black trim outside, flush door handles, 17-inch steel wheels with covers, roof rails, a rear spoiler, electric outside mirrors, drive modes like Zip Zap Zoom and Custom for diesel, auto engine stop-start, a 12.3-inch set of three screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, AdrenoX connected car tech, built-in Alexa with ChatGPT, smartwatch link, cruise control, six-speaker sound system, front charging ports at 65W

Type-C and 15W Type-A, rear 15W Type-A port, third-row 12V socket, six-way manual driver seat, power windows with one-touch down for driver, manual AC with vents for middle and back rows, push-button start, front and rear armrests, steering controls, height-adjustable front belts, manual dimming mirror, six airbags, stability control, traction control, hill-hold and descent aids, ABS with brake distribution, ISOFIX points, and follow-me-home lights.

The AX3 trim builds on that with mirrors that fold electrically and close on their own, a rear camera with moving lines, rear wiper and washer, plus a rear defogger for clear views in rain. AX5 adds 17-inch alloy wheels, auto door locks when you walk up or away, a big panoramic sunroof, steering that adjusts up and down, longer sun visors, front parking sensors.

Then AX7 at Rs 18.48 to 20.40 lakh brings 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, boot light, auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, remote window closing and cool-down for automatics, mirrors that tilt and remember positions, upgraded AdrenoX+ with streaming apps and quick deliveries, leatherette seats, six-way power driver seat with memory and welcome tilt, manual boss mode for the front passenger seat, dual-zone auto AC with max defrost and quiet settings, air purifier showing AQI, tablet holder with 65W charging, digital video recorder, 360-degree cameras, blind-spot monitor, and tyre pressure warnings.

AX7T Tech from Rs 20.99 lakh includes keyless entry without a button, turn signals that flash one after another, front LED fog and cornering lights, ventilated front seats, front wireless phone charge pad, electronic parking brake, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio with Dolby Atmos, frameless auto-dimming mirror, adaptive cruise control, driver sleep detection, and Level 2 advanced driver aids.

The AX7L Luxury starting at Rs 22.47 lakh tops it with 19-inch diamond-cut alloys, lights inside that change zones and colors, leatherette on doors, ventilated middle-row seats, rear sun shades, six-way power front passenger seat with boss mode, rear wireless charge pad, and Dolby Vision on screens.

Inside, there's a new beige and brown color scheme, with the two-spoke steering in top trims wrapped in two-tone leather. Outside colors include two light ones like Desert Myst and Everest White, plus Galaxy Grey, Midnight Black, Nebula Blue, Ruby Velvet, and Stealth Black.

For buyers with about Rs 20 lakh to spend, the AX7 trim gives the best mix of features for everyone in the car and all engine choices at a fair price. If a driver often takes you places and you want captain seats with cooling and charge spots in the back, the top AX7L 6-seater automatic covers all needs nicely. Basic AX or AX3 fit simple wants, but go past them for sunroof or nicer wheels, and pick diesel automatics for easy driving with more torque pull.
