The original Fab 4 is a group of top cricketers, including Virat Kohli from India, Joe Root from England, Steve Smith from Australia, and Kane Williamson from New Zealand. These four have dominated the game for many years and are respected all over the world for their skills and consistency.
Chopra believes that the next generation of star players is ready to shine on cricket’s world stage. He did not choose any Australian player in his new list. Instead, he selected two Indian batsmen, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Gill has recently become the captain for India in both ODI and Test cricket formats. He led India to a 2-2 draw against England in his first Test series as captain and is now leading a two-match series with the West Indies. Gill’s first task as ODI skipper will be against Australia in the upcoming three-match series, starting on October 19, 2025.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is another young talent in the Indian team. He has shown a perfect mix of aggression and maturity as a batsman. Jaiswal is known for his consistent batting and is expected to perform well in all formats of the game. He is currently focusing more on one format but is likely to be good across formats in the future.
England’s Harry Brook is also on the list. Brook is a dynamic player with a Test average of over 57. His current performance in white-ball cricket is good, but many believe he has the ability to get even better with time. He is likely to become an important player for England in all formats.
The fourth player picked by Chopra is Rachin Ravindra from New Zealand. Ravindra is a batting all-rounder who averages over 42 in both Tests and ODIs. He also bowls left-arm spin and has already taken 45 wickets in international cricket. His technique and calm attitude make him a strong candidate for future success.
Chopra said he feels these four players have the skills, temperament, and potential to rule cricket in the coming years. According to him, they are ready to join the elite club and carry the legacy of the current Fab 4 forward for the next decade.
