Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Tipped to Launch in January 2026 With 65W Fast Charging

Samsung is set to launch its next flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, in January 2026. Before the launch, several leaks and reports have already revealed details about the device. One of the main questions has been about the battery size.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra with large 6.9-inch display and quad-camera setup, expected to launch in January 2026 with 65W fast charging support.

Early reports suggested Samsung might finally increase the battery to 5,500mAh, but a new certification has dismissed that claim.

According to a recent listing on the China Quality Certification Centre (CQCC) website, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may use a 5,000mAh battery. Samsung has been using the same battery capacity in its Ultra models since the Galaxy S20 Ultra, including the recent Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Even though the size has not changed in years, Samsung has managed to deliver reliable battery life through software improvements and energy-efficient processors.

The real change this year may come in charging speed. Reports suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra could come with 60W to 65W wired fast charging. This would be a major step forward compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which only supported 45W wired charging and 25W wireless charging.

If true, this would be Samsung’s biggest upgrade in charging speeds and would finally help it compete with brands like OnePlus and Xiaomi, which already offer charging speeds above 100W.

On the performance side, the device is expected to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chip. The phone might also come with up to 16GB of RAM, which would make it a strong device for gaming, multitasking, and heavy usage.

For the display, leaks suggest a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen with high resolution and smooth refresh rates. As expected, the phone could come with an IP68 rating, making it resistant to dust and water.

Cameras are also expected to be a major highlight. Reports indicate the Galaxy S26 Ultra could feature a 200-megapixel main camera (ISOCELL HP2 sensor), a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel periscope zoom lens.

This setup would place the phone among the best camera smartphones expected in 2026, competing directly with the Apple iPhone 17 series and Google Pixel 10 lineup.

The phone is most likely to launch at Samsung’s annual Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2026. It is expected to be introduced globally, including key markets such as India, South Korea, the U.S., and Europe.

In summary, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may not bring the bigger 5,500mAh battery that many hoped for, but it could finally improve in the charging department with up to 65W fast charging. With a powerful new processor, a big high-quality display, and an advanced camera system, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be one of the top flagship releases of 2026.
