The feature is part of the upcoming One UI 8.5 update, which was recently spotted in a leaked version of Samsung’s software.
According to the leak, this new system automatically finds which notifications are most important and moves them to the top of the notification panel. These high-priority alerts will look slightly different from regular ones they’ll have a soft glow and gradient background so users can notice them right away.

While Samsung’s smart system will decide which notifications are important, users will still have full control. You’ll be able to choose which apps can send priority notifications, so only the alerts you care about most will show up at the top.
Privacy also seems to be a key focus of this upgrade. Reports say that all the sorting and analysis of notifications will happen directly on the phone, not in the cloud. That means your personal data will stay safe and won’t be sent to Samsung’s servers just for notification management.

Currently, the feature has only been seen in test firmware and isn’t available to users yet. The final version of One UI 8.5 is expected to launch early next year alongside the Galaxy S26 series. A beta testing program might start a bit earlier before the full public release.
For Galaxy users, this update aims to fix one of the biggest everyday issues too many mixed notifications. By highlighting the most important alerts, Samsung hopes to help users stay focused without missing anything. It’s a small change that could make daily phone use more comfortable and organized.
As always with leaked features, the final design or list of supported devices could still change. We’ll know more once Samsung officially announces and rolls out the update.
