When Apple next year introduces its high-end smartphone, the iPhone 18 Pro, it may arrive in colours the company has rarely or never used before.

A reliable tipster on China’s Weibo platform, known under the name “Instant Digital”, leaked that the iPhone 18 Pro could be offered in three new shades: Coffee, Burgundy, and Purple.
Of the three, Coffee and Burgundy appear to be entirely new territory for Apple’s Pro-line of phones. Purple is not brand-new: past models like the iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro have seen lavenders and purples.

Apple fans may recall that the iPhone 17 Pro series came in bold colours such as Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue and Silver without the traditional black option.
With the iPhone 18 Pro, the rumour suggests Apple might again skip offering a classic Black colour variant, continuing the move away from that staple finish.
Beyond aesthetics, the phone is also expected to bring serious hardware upgrades. A prominent leak indicates that the device will be powered by Apple’s next-generation chip, the A20 (and possibly A20 Pro for top tier), built on a 2-nanometre manufacturing process by Apple’s partner TSMC. This leap is expected to deliver improved energy efficiency and performance.

In addition, rumours point toward a display specification of about 6.26 inches (for the Pro model) with an LTPO OLED panel, 1.5K resolution, and a new “HIAA” (Hole-in-Active-Area) technology which means the selfie camera cut-out could be very small and the rest of the front nearly edge-to-edge.
The camera system is expected to make a leap too, offering a main sensor with variable aperture something that allows the phone to adapt better in bright or low-light scenes.
In terms of launch timing, the rumour mill suggests the iPhone 18 Pro (and possibly the Pro Max and a fold-style iPhone) could debut in September 2026, while a standard iPhone 18 (and entry model iPhone 18e) might follow in Spring 2027.
For consumers in India and globally, what this means is a possible wait of many months before the new colours and new features arrive. Yet, the bold move in colour strategy—from warm earthy shades like Coffee to rich wine-like Burgundy—signals Apple may be placing more emphasis on style and design differentiation than ever.
