Campbell went for a powerful slog-sweep, and the ball flew quickly toward forward short leg, where Sudharsan was positioned. Despite the ball coming at high speed, Sudharsan managed to trap it between his helmet, hands, and chest, completing a brilliant reflex catch. The effort left everyone stunned, including Campbell himself, as the crowd erupted in applause for the young Indian cricketer.

Earlier in the match, Sudharsan made headlines with his impressive batting on Day 1, scoring a solid 87 runs, his highest Test score so far. The left-hander missed out on what could have been his maiden Test century but expressed satisfaction with his performance.

Speaking after the day’s play, Sudharsan said, “I’m definitely grateful for what I achieved today, but there’s always that feeling of wanting more. I was really hoping to reach my first hundred.”

He added that his 193-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal was crucial for India. “It was a good partnership with Jaiswal. I tried to play freely and express myself better this time. I took my time and focused on letting things happen naturally instead of forcing shots,” he explained.

Sudharsan, who made his Test debut on India’s tour of England, also shared that he’s learning to make smarter shot selections. “I’m becoming more aware of which balls to attack and how to turn good deliveries into scoring opportunities,” he said.

At stumps on Day 2, India had declared their innings at 518/5, while West Indies struggled at 194/8, still trailing by 324 runs. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 72 runs in 22 overs.
