This challenge came soon after India’s powerful performance in the Asia Cup, where Abhishek Sharma was named Player of the Tournament. The left-handed opener scored 314 runs in seven matches at an impressive strike rate of nearly 200, helping India lift the title.
Ihsanullah, who became famous for bowling at 152.65 kmph in the 2023 Pakistan Super League, said he is confident of taking Abhishek’s wicket if they ever face each other.
“If I get to play against India, I will dismiss Abhishek Sharma in 3–6 balls,” Ihsanullah said in a viral video that sparked huge debate among cricket fans.
He added that his speed and swing would trouble Abhishek.
“My 140 kmph deliveries will feel like 160 to him. He won’t be able to judge them. I bowl inswingers to left-handers, and he struggles against those balls,” Ihsanullah claimed.
The pacer also explained his bowling plan:
“I always target the right shoulder of left-handers with my bouncers — and they’re very effective.”
Ihsanullah was last seen in action in March, playing the National T20 Cup for Peshawar, where he took four wickets in three matches.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma’s form continues to shine. The young Indian batter has scored three fifties in the Asia Cup and accumulated 593 runs in 12 T20Is this season at an average of 49.41 and a strike rate of 208.8.
Even cricket legend Brian Lara praised Abhishek’s talent, saying:
“He’s an amazing young player — something very special. Yuvraj Singh has had a big influence on him. His bat speed and timing are impressive. Despite his T20 success, he still dreams of playing Test cricket, which is great.”
Abhishek’s rapid rise and Ihsanullah’s fiery challenge have created an exciting buzz among fans, who can’t wait for a possible India vs Pakistan face off in the near future.
