Inter Miami CF ended their 2025 regular season home campaign in style, defeating Atlanta United FC 4-0 at Chase Stadium. Lionel Messi stole the show with a brilliant brace, while Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez also found the net.

Goalkeeper Rocco RÃos Novo kept a clean sheet with three crucial saves. Messi also made MLS history by becoming the first player to score in nine multi-goal games in a single season.
Messi almost opened the scoring in the 21st minute, but his left-footed shot was denied by Atlanta’s keeper. He finally broke the deadlock in the 39th minute. After Rodriguez won the ball in Atlanta’s third, he passed to Messi on the right. Messi entered the box and curled the ball into the upper left corner. This marked Messi’s 25th goal of the season and Rodriguez’s third assist.
In stoppage time, Suarez came close to doubling the lead with a Messi-assisted volley that hit the crossbar. RÃos Novo also made a vital save in the fourth minute of added time, keeping Atlanta from scoring.
The second half saw Alba make it 2-0 in the 52nd minute, chipping the keeper after a perfect long pass from Messi. This was Alba’s sixth goal of the season and Messi’s 18th assist. Suarez then made it 3-0 in the 61st minute with a first-time strike from just outside the box, marking his 10th goal of the season. Messi sealed the 4-0 win in the 87th minute, scoring his 26th goal of the season, assisted by Alba.
The victory secured Inter Miami home-field advantage for Round One of the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs. Next up, Inter Miami will face Nashville SC on the road in their final regular season match.
